Lost Hero's Page

I am trying to keep this website light but this means so much to me that I had to include it. I have lost great friends in the field so I felt the need to include a picture tribute to our heros that have fallen in the line of duty. This includes Police Officers (K-9's too), Fire Fighters, Security Officers and Ambulance Personnel that gave the ultimate sacrifice

Officers Eric Kelly, Paul Sciullo III and Stephen Mayhle of the Pittsburgh Police Department were all killed in an April 4, 2009 standoff.
On 3/22/2009, Oakland California Police Officers Sgt. Mark Dunakin, 40, was killed at the first shooting. The members of the SWAT team who were killed at the second location were Sgt. Ervin Romans, 43, Sgt. Daniel Sakai, 35, and officer John Hege, 41. This occurred after a traffic stop and standoff with police.

Stephen Johns was shot and killed Wednesday June 10, 2009 at the crowded U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum on Wednesday before being shot himself by other officers, authorities said. Mr. Johns, also known as "Big John" because he was 6'6" tall, was working as a security guard at the location. Reportedly, his last act was to open the door for the gunman who walked in and drew a gun and fired at John. The alleged gunman is a 88 year old man with a white supremacist background.

Jersey City, New Jersey Officer Marc DiNardo was shot in the face with a shotgun blast as he and other officers tried to storm an apartment on July 16. Four other officers were wounded. Two suspects were shot and killed. Marc died on Jul 21. 2009, one day before his 38th birthday. DiNardo was a father of three and a 10-year veteran of the force.

Sergeant Joe Harris of the Sandoval County Sheriff's Office in New Mexico was shot and killed on July 16, 2009 while attempting to arrest a burglary suspect along New Mexico 126 at approximately 4:30 am. He and another deputy were conducting a stakeout due to a rash of recent cabin burglaries in the area.

To submit, please send us an email with the picture and tell us about the person that we have all lost. When, where and how. Feel free to also include any other heart felt thoughts that you might have. I believe that we lose so many and yet hear of so few.

Thank you and may God Bless!
